The Crab Orchard Trojans started the season at 5-0 and have since increased that win total to 6-0.  It was an easy choice for the first Team of the Week of the basketball season.  Matt Varney visited with coach of the Trojans, Jon Brown and discussed the team:

John A. Logan men's basketball coach Tyler Smithpeters joined the program Tuesday night to discuss this week's final two regular season games as well as the upcoming Region 24 Tournament.

The Marion Wildcats are hosting Metamora in their first round game of the 5A postseason, a program they know well from their postseason trips in the early 2000s.  Coach Kerry Martin talks with voice of the Wildcats, Garrett Elders:
