The Herrin House of Hope has seen a dramatic increase in the amount of meals served each week due to the Covid-19 pandemic.  Last week, it was an approximate 400% increase in meals served to members of the Southern Illinois community.  If you can help out in any way, financially, or even with volunteering if you are healthy, you can find out how to do that at the Herrin House of Hope website!  Located on S. 14th Street, the Herrin House of Hope serves meals Monday through Saturday from 11AM to 1PM!  In case you missed it, I was able to speak with Pastor Troy Benitone with Community of Faith Church.  He helps organize the incredible volunteer effort that takes place there every day!

Thank you to everyone for calling into the #KiTC Morning Show this Good Friday Morning!  I believe, and I know you do too, that we can all RISE ABOVE IT!  In case you missed it, here's the song I was talking about, and your voices sound great!  All of us coming together over the radio!  Be encouraged on this Easter weekend, and be of good cheer!  AND, join me Sunday morning at 7AM for our Rise Above It: Community Easter Special!

My friend Bart, a veteran from Harrisburg, called me with this poem on today's #KiTC Morning Show for Veteran's Day.  In case you missed it, here ya' go!  It's simply called, "I Am A Soldier".
