The Murphysboro Red Devils are taking advantage of the IHSA's new rules that allow 11-on-11 scrimmages this week. Voice of the Red Devils, Matt Varney, met with Coach Gary Carter Thursday evening before their first scrimmage with Marion and discussed the new 11-on-11 scrimmages and some of the new additions to the team that have Murphysboro excited for the coming season:

John A. Logan men's basketball coach Kyle Smithpeters met with Matt Varney Monday morning and they went down the roster together discussing several different weapons that the #6 Vols have. It's the first time the Red Devils have reached the IHSA Quarterfinals since 1991. The pair discussed SVW's dominant offense and this weekend's huge game vs. Greenfield that the Red Devils will be hosting.
