ST. LOUIS – Southern Illinois outfielder Kristian Sprawling has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Week, the League office announced Tuesday. It is the first weekly honor for Sprawling from The Valley, and the third weekly award for the Salukis this season.

Sprawling helped lead the Salukis to their second consecutive weekend sweep after hitting a team-high .750 average (6-of-8), while also putting together a 1.125 slugging percentage and a .818 on-base percentage. He had multiple hits in the three games, including a home run in the series opener.

The Olive Branch, Mississippi native drove in six RBIs, including three during Saturday’s win. He finished the weekend with six hits, three runs scored, two walks, a hit-by-pitch, and three stolen bases.
