The top spot in the John A. Logan College SI Basketball Poll has been retaken by the Centralia Orphans after a big 49-43 win over Marion last Saturday. The Orphans catapult up from #4 to #1 to reclaim the spot.
The Benton Rangers, who have not played this week, garnered the most first place votes but fell a few votes shy of retaining the top spot in this week’s poll.
The tie at #5 between Pinckneyville, Murphysboro, and Herrin was broken up with Pinckneyville finding themselves at #4, just a point ahead of Marion. Murphysboro is #6 and Herrin is #7, just a point separates those two programs as well.
