TRACE ADKINS TEAMS WITH MLB LEGEND DON MATTINGLY TO BENEFIT MATTINGLY CHARITIES FOR ‘A NIGHT OF SONGS & STORIES’

COUNTRY ICON TO HEADLINE NOVEMBER 21 CONCERT IN EVANSVILLE, INDIANA, RAISING MONEY FOR LOCAL YOUTH THROUGH MATTINGLY CHARITIES

MORE COAST-TO-COAST SHOWS COMING UP

Nashville, Tenn. (August 26, 2024) – MULTI-PLATINUM entertainer and TV/film actor Trace Adkins will team up with the charity founded by Major League Baseball legend Don Mattingly this fall, headlining a special event to benefit underserved youth of Evansville, Indiana, area for A Night of Songs & Stories.

Set for November 21 at the Victory Theatre in Evansville, Indiana, and sponsored by Romain Cross Pointe, this evening will feature a special Q&A session with “the Hit Man” and the Country hitmaker, plus an intimate performance with Adkins bringing his iconic baritone vocal and #1 smashes like “(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing,” “You’re Gonna Miss This,” “Ladies Love Country Boys,” and more – all in service to Mattingly’s beloved hometown.

The must-see show will raise money and awareness for Mattingly Charities – the non-profit set up by the bench coach for the Toronto Blue Jays who spent his entire 14-year MLB playing career with the New York Yankees and later managed the Los Angeles Dodgers for five years and the Miami Marlins for seven years.

Tickets for the limited-capacity event will go on sale on August 30. Get your tickets at https://www.mattinglycharities.org , Ford Center Ticket Office, or Ticketmaster.com.

Co-chaired by Don and Lori Mattingly, Mattingly Charities is a non-profit, 501c3 organization established in 2007. With a mission to support advancement for education, social development, and athletic programs for underserved youth in and around Evansville, Indiana, Mattingly Charities has awarded over $905,813.16 in community grants and donations to organizations in the Evansville community since 2015.

The November fundraising concert is nothing new for the big-hearted, big-voiced Adkins, who strives to support and strengthen American communities however he can. In May of 2023 the Country star organized and played a free show in Mayfield, Kentucky, which raised money for the broader Western Kentucky area after a devastating tornado outbreak struck in December 2021. Adkins also filmed a video for the song “Somewhere in America” at the show, highlighting the resilience of the local residents with an anthem that has gone on to become a live favorite for Adkins and his fans ever since.

Hitting the road this summer, Adkins will continue headlining shows and playing fairs and festivals from coast-to-coast while bringing his 2021 album THE WAY I WANNA GO to the stage. Featuring 25 tracks in honor of the 25th anniversary since his 1996 DREAMIN’ OUT LOUD debut, the set was hailed as “a creative tour de force” by Billboard and featured special guests Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Melissa Etheridge, Pitbull, Snoop Dogg, Stevie Wonder on harmonica, and more.
