CARBONDALE, Ill. – The SIU Men’s Golf program announced the signing of Jan Wdowka Friday.

“We are excited to welcome Jan to the Saluki family,” Director of Golf Justin Fetcho said. “He has some tremendous collegiate experience already by winning his conference during his freshman and sophomore years at Webster.”

Wdowka joins the Salukis from Prague, Czech Republic, as a transfer from Webster University. He tallied a scoring average of 72.3 during his freshman and sophomore seasons, to go along with back-to-back SLIAC Individual Medalist honors. He won three tournaments and was named the SLIAC Player of the Year in both seasons.

“Jan is a very talented ball striker and has more than enough length to play any golf course in the world,” Fetcho said. “He continued to get better year after year and we believe his best golf is still in front of him.”

Wdowka impressed at home as well, placing second in the Czech International Match Play Championship in 2023 and 2024. He currently ranks 887 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings.
