MARION, Ill. (WJPF) – A high speed chase through Williamson County ended with two men behind bars and a mobile drug lab seized.
The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says the 30 mile pursuit began around 11:10 p.m. Saturday when deputies saw Aaron Trover in the parking lot of the Huck’s Convenience Store on East DeYoung Street in Marion. They say deputies knew Trover had an outstanding federal warrant for manufacturing amphetamine.
After being spotted by law enforcement, Trover got behind the wheel of an SUV and took off, leading police on a chase through the southeastern portion of the county. Deputies say Trover rammed a squad car and tried to run other police vehicles off the road. The chase ended near Creal Springs when deputies rammed Trover’s vehicle, disabling it and sending it into a ditch.
Aaron Trover along with a passenger, Anthony Futia, were both arrested. Trover faces charges of methamphetamine possession, manufacture/delivery of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer, reckless driving, aggravated assault, speeding, disobeying a stop sign, expired registration, and operation of an uninsured vehicle. Anthony Futia was charged with methamphetamine possession
The Sheriff’s Office says an elaborate mobile drug lab was set up inside the vehicle which included harvesting, pumps, cooktops, filtration, packaging, and other related equipment. Deputies seized approximately 42,700 grams of THC substances including trash bags and pressure sealed bags of raw cannabis and multiple 5 gallon containers of processed THC oil concentrate.
