CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – Carbondale Police recently stopped a burglary in progress.

Around 3:50 a.m. Tuesday, officers were called to a commercial building in the 600 block of East College Street. Outside, they saw evidence of a likely break-in. Inside the building, they found 43-year-old Brian Brennen.

Brennen was taken to the Jackson County Jail on charges of burglary, criminal trespassing, and possession of burglary tools.
