EAST CAPE GIRARDEAU, Ill. (WJPF) – Illinois State Police have released more information about a fatal shooting Sunday in East Cape Girardeau.

ISP says at about 11:30 a.m. two juvenile occupants of a vehicle were shot as they traveled on Route 146, east of the Mississippi River bridge.  JaZaria Hempstead, 17, of Cape Girardeau, died from her injuries on Tuesday.  The second victim was treated and released from a hospital.

Tyrese Tucker, 20, of Ullin, was arrested on Tuesday.  He was taken to the Massac County jail on a single charge of first degree murder.
