WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – Williamson County Sheriff Jeff Diederich says his deputies will soon be patrolling rural areas of the county on ATVs.

Deiderich says deputies have already successfully completed a pilot program in which they recovered one stolen ATV.

The cost of the buying and equipping the off road vehicles has not been disclosed. Sheriff Diederich says it will be a significant investment and those figures will be released in the coming weeks.
