Illinois State Police are investigating the death of a 4-month-old male from Pinckneyville. 

The Illinois State Police was requested by the Pinckneyville Police Department to investigate Sunday June 12th, after serious injuries were reported.

The child was transferred to a hospital in St. Louis, where he died from his injuries. 

An autopsy was performed Friday June 17th, and results are pending. 

This is an open and on-going investigation.
