CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – A Carbondale man has been arrested on battery charges.
Carbondale Police say two people were socializing Wednesday evening in the 200 block of East Chestnut Street when one of those people, 22-year-old Tyler Edwards, pulled out an object that looked like a gun and hit the other person with the object multiple times.
The victim ran off and called police. They were later taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Tyler Edwards was arrested for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon other than a firearm. Edwards also had an active warrant out of Williamson County for criminal trespassing.
