In this week’s John A. Logan SI Basketball Coaches Poll, the Nashville Hornets retook the top spot following wins over Du Quoin and Okawville, garnering seven first place votes while Centralia fell back down to #2. The two teams have battled over the top two spots throughout the entire season.
The logjam at #3 was broken up following Mt. Vernon’s loss to Marion, dropping the Rams to #5. The Pinckneyville Panthers edged the Murphysboro Red Devils out for the #3 spot.
Breese Central reentered the top 10 as Massac County’s tumble continued and sent the Patriots straight out of the top 10.
