CARTERVILLE, Ill. (WJPF) — An American Bald Eagle, found injured last month near De Soto, has been released into the wild.

The bird, which was unable to fly or walk just a few weeks ago, took flight Monday morning.

The bird was nursed back to health by Free Again Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in rural Carterville.
