JOHNSTON CITY, Ill. (WJPF) — The man who tried to kidnap a woman last August at Arrowhead Lake in Johnston City has been sentenced to five years in prison.

Noel Kennon, 42, pleaded guilty to unlawful restraint.

Last year, police said Kennon grabbed the victim and told her that he had a knife. The woman fought back and was able to escape relatively unharmed.

Kennon has a previous conviction of predatory criminal sexual assault in Williamson County.
