CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — Three people face charges in connection to a shots fired incident last week in Carbondale

It happened just before 8:00 p.m. Thursday in the 700 block of South Lewis Lane.

Carbondale Police say during their initial investigation, the suspects were not located and no injuries were reported. Further investigation revealed that during an altercation amongst acquaintances, Daivon K. Willis, 23, of Carbondale displayed a handgun. Everett Galloway, 45, of Carbondale displayed a handgun as well. Eddie Payne, 50 of Carbondale, also displayed a handgun and fired it. Willis then also fired his handgun. Another subject that has not been identified also had a handgun during the altercation. The investigation revealed Payne gave his gun to Jalen Cobb, 28, of Carbondale who concealed the gun from police, prior to their arrival.

Eddie Payne was arrested and charged with Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm. Galloway was arrested for Unlawful use of Weapon and Firearm Owner’s Identification Required. Payne and Galloway was incarcerated at the Jackson County Jail. Jalen Cobb was arrested for Obstructing Justice and released on a Notice to Appear.
