Southern Illinois women’s golf senior Emilyee McGiles has been named Missouri Valley Conference Performer of the Week the league announced Tuesday.

McGiles led the Salukis to a third place finish at the UAB Hoover Invitational. McGiles carded rounds of 71, 72, and 73 to finish even par. The 54-hole total of 216 is a career best for McGiles and is tied for the second best 54-hole score in SIU program history.

McGiles continues to move up in the record book with 64 career rounds in the 70s, fourth-best in program history behind Saluki Hall of Famer Kelly Gerlach (69).

Southern Illinois returns to action on October 12, 2020 at the Lady Red Wolves Classic, hosted by Arkansas State.
