CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) — Authorities have released the identity of the man accused of intentionally setting a fire inside a Carbondale apartment building.

Investigators say Deandre Pugh, 39, set fire to his third floor apartment, located at 708 West Mill Street, just after 9:00 p.m. Sunday. They say he did this knowing other people were inside the building. No injuries were reported.

Pugh is being held in the Jackson County Jail on a felony charge of aggravated arson. His bond has been set at $75,000.

A reason for Pugh’s actions is not clear.
