CARTERVILLE, Ill. (WJPF) — Four people were taken to the hospital after a fire at John A Logan College.
According to the college, around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday a power failure trapped two college employees in an elevator and caused a small fire that was able to be put out by campus police. The state Fire Marshall is investigating the cause.
Firefighters rescued the employees from the elevator. The employ yes, along with two firefighters, were taken to area hospitals.
Due to smoke damage, the campus will be closed through Friday, but classes and other services will continue online.
