A Union County sheriff’s deputy has been arrested in connection with a fatal traffic accident earlier this year.

Reports indicate Cyle Harner of Vienna was arrested Thursday. He has been charged with reckless homicide and aggravated DUI, according to State’s Attorney Tyler Edmonds.

Three men were ejected from the vehicle in the crash that occurred on Old Highway 146. 24-year-old Troy Newman was killed in the accident. Harner and another passenger were treated for non-life threatening injuries in the accident that occurred in late March.
