State Senator Dale Fowler pushed for passage of a measure transferring the property during the first week of the fall veto session.

Fowler says allowing the county to take over the work camp will benefit public safety locally and help the local economy.

In a bi-partisan vote Thursday, the senate approved Fowler’s bill 47 – 0. It now moves on the House.
