MURPHYSBORO, IL. (WJPF) – A Carbondale man has been sentenced to 9 years in state prison for aggravated battery against a woman.

50-year-old Joseph Warren was found guilty of the felony charge following jury trial.

According to the Jackson County State’s Attorney’s Office, Warren hit a woman that he had once had brief relationship with. The blow caused the woman to fall face-first onto the concrete and lose consciousness.
