PEORIA, Ill. (AP) – Authorities in central Illinois say they believe the bodies of a missing Bradley University professor and her husband have been found.

Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell says a tarp and a tent believed to contain the bodies of Susan Brill de Ramirez and Antonio Ramirez Barron were discovered Tuesday near the Spoon River Bridge. The couple’s son, 21-year-old Jose Ramirez, has been charged with first-degree murder.

Authorities say Ramirez indicated he dumped his parents’ bodies from a bridge above a body of water after killing them Friday. Asbell says there are multiple creeks and waterways in that area, and Ramirez told police he could not pinpoint the site.

Peoria County Assistant State’s Attorney Dave Kenny alleged Tuesday during a bond hearing that Ramirez told friends he was “sick of his parents.” A judge set bond for Ramirez at $3 million and a preliminary hearing date of Nov. 29.
