A Grand Tower has been for arrested after police say he held a woman against her will and then led police on a slow speed chase.
It all started at 3:15 PM Thursday when the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a woman who said that an armed 29 year old Keith Ticer had been holding her against her will inside of Grand Tower’s Cardinal Corner convenience store. The woman been able to escape and told police that Ticer was currently sitting in his pickup truck in the parking lot.
When police arrived on the scene, Ticer fled in his truck, leading them on a slow speed chase through the streets of Grand Tower. Ticer eventually lost control of his truck though and crashed through a fence. He then fled on foot and briefly escaped police by hiding in a patch woods along the Mississippi.
A K-9 unit from the Elkville Police Department was called in; moments after the dog started to track Ticer, police say he fled on foot again, this time hiding in a nearby shed.
At roughly 5:00 PM he was taken into custody without further incident. He’s currently jailed on two unrelated warrants, Additional charges from are anticipated.
