The fierce rivalry between Massac County’s Joe Hosman and Murphysboro’s Daryl Murphy added another chapter on Wednesday night in the Anna-Jonesboro 2A Regional Semi-Final.  The Patriots stunned Murphysboro 59-52 to take down the #2 seed in the sub-sectional.

The win marked Joe Hosman’s 750th win with Massac County.  He now has a 750-383 record with the Patriots.  His career record sits at 863-467.

Hosman began his coaching career with Eldorado, coaching the Eagles from 1979-1986 before making the jump to Massac County.

Massac County matches up with Vienna Friday night in the Anna-Jonesboro Regional Final.  Vienna also pulled of an upset, defeating #3 Harrisburg 45-44 on a buzzer beater floater from Job Winterrowd.

Massac County is 14-17 this season.
