MOUNT VERNON, Ill. (WJPF) – Threats in Mt. Vernon have led to the arrest of a juvenile.
On Monday September 16th around 6:30pm, police were notified of a threat to a Mount Vernon Township High School student by another student.
Detectives initiated an investigation that led to the arrest of a 15-year-old male. The male was charged with making a terroristic threat that was targeted at a specific student.
While the juvenile was eligible to be detained in a juvenile detention facility, no facilities would accept the juvenile within our region. He was held at the MVPD overnight.
The juvenile was transported to court the next morning and then transferred to a juvenile detention center near Chicago.
