HERRIN, Ill. (WJPF) — A man has been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting Saturday in Herrin. 

Tyler Mezo, 38, of Herrin, has been charged with felony first degree murder. 

Illinois State Police say they were contacted by Herrin Police after the discovery of a dead body at a home in the 3100 block of Weaver Road.  ISP says the female victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.  The victim has not been identified by authorities.  

Tyler Mezo was taken to the Williamson County Jail, pending an initial court appearance.
