Former John A. Logan College star and NJCAA Player of the Year Sean East signed an Exhibit-10 deal with the Los Angeles Lakers Thursday night. He is expected to compete for a roster spot at the NBA’s Summer League.
East averaged 20.9 points, 5.7 assists, and 4.3 rebounds for John A. Logan College in the 2021-22 season. He shot 53.4% from the field and 41% from three. From there, he followed former Logan coach Kyle Smithpeters to Mizzou.
He came off the bench in his first season with the Tigers before bursting on to the scene this past year with a 17.6 points per game average. He also averaged 4.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds.
East’s Exhibit-10 deal allows a franchise to convert a player (specifically on a non-guaranteed one-year minimum) to a two-way contract.
NBA Summer League is from July 12 to July 22.
