EUGENE, Oreg. – Rachel Anderson wrapped up her incredible career as a Saluki at the NCAA Track and Field Championship placing 16th in the Women’s 3000-meter steeplechase event with a time of 10:03.58.
Anderson was four spots out of qualifying for the final, nine seconds short of the cutoff to advance.
Her performance capped off a season good enough to earn Second-Team All-American honors.
Distance Coach Brain Biekert shared his thoughts on Anderson’s career as a Saluki.
“I have nothing but pride in the journey that Rachel experienced while at SIU and feel lucky to be apart of it,” he said. “Though she did not make it to the final, she finished her career as a Saluki as a second team all American, and that’s a huge accomplishment.”
