MARION, Ill. (WJPF) – A Jackson County man has been arrested as part of a lengthy narcotics investigation.

Marion Police say Roger Compton, Jr., 29, was arrested Monday near Ray Fosse Park for the delivery of a fentanyl within 500 feet of a protected place. 

Marion Police say when he was apprehended, Roger Compton, Jr. had a large amount of cash in his possession, including “official advanced funds,” or money secretly marked and then used by undercover police to purchase illegal items like narcotics.
