BLUFORD, Ill. (WJPF) – Police in Jefferson County are looking for the driver of a car that left the scene of a fatal accident.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says it happened around 8:45 p.m. Sunday in Bluford.

Police say an ATV, traveling west on Short Street, collided with an SUV, traveling north on Markham Lane. The ATV driver, 34-year-old Daniel Montgomery, of Bonnie, was thrown from the wreck. He landed in Markham Lane where, seconds later, he was run over by a third vehicle, a southbound dark colored sedan. The sedan then drove off. Montgomery died at the scene.
