Southern Illinois was voted second in the Missouri Valley Conference preseason poll as released by the league Tuesday afternoon. UNI was voted as the preseason favorite for the third straight season.

Along with the Southern’s second-place ranking, four Salukis were selected to the Preseason All-MVC team – Madi Eberle (pitcher), Jackie Lis (shortstop), Elizabeth Warwick (outfield), and Emma Austin (outfield). Only Missouri State and UNI also had multiple players named to the list.
