A man has been charged with Unlawful Use of Weapons in Saline County.

Officers with the Carrier Mills Police initiated a traffic stop on a speeding vehicle on Monday, January 22.

The driver was identified as 23 year old Johnbrantley Latham of Grayslake.

Officers observed a loaded uncased shotgun in the rear floorboard  and also located a semi automatic handgun in a hunting bag.

Latham did not possess a concealed carry permit and was charged with 2 counts of Unlawful Use of Weapons and Speeding. 

The weapons were seized as evidence and Latham was given a court date and released.
