A man has been sentenced for the 2019 murder of a Carbondale man.
Olando Sheron of Sikeston was found guilty of first degree murder in 2022, for the death of Keon Cooper.
Cooper was shot multiple times at Hangar 9 in Carbondale in December of 2019 and later died at a hospital. Sheron fled the scene and went on the run for the next two years. He was caught after a seven mile police chase in California in 2021.
Sheron was sentenced to 80 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
