FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (WJPF) – One person was killed, another was injured in a crash on Interstate 57 in Franklin County.

It happened just after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in between the Benton and West Frankfort exits.

Illinois State Police say two vehicles were involved. The deceased died at the scene. The injured person was taken to an area hospital and is expected to survive.

The names of those involved have not been released.
