METROPOLIS, Ill. (WJPF) – Firefighters in Metropolis battled two structure fires over the weekend.

The first happened around 11:20 p.m. Saturday and involved a vacant mobile home.  Firefighters were on the scene for about 2 hours.  Then, just about an hour after returning to the station, firefighters were called out again for a fire at an apartment complex. Four of the eight units were involved and one person was treated for smoke inhalation.

Both fires are now under investigation.
