Former SIU Football player Anthony Knighton finished his career on the football field as the record holder for most career sacks (25.5), tackles for loss (52.0), and games started (57) in SIU history. He’s taking that experience and applying it to law enforcement.
Monday morning, Anthony Knighton was sworn in to the Carbondale Police Department. His coach, Nick Hill, was in attendance to support the former Saluki.
Proud is an understatement. 2016 I was 30 years old and recruiting our first signing class. Anthony from fort pierce Florida signed with us. 6 years later he started the most games in SIU history (57) and most career sacks. Today he was sworn in to join the Carbondale PD! pic.twitter.com/6ud7eYf1Dk
