MOUND CITY, Ill. (WJPF) – Illinois State Police are investigating a traffic accident that killed a 70 year-old pedestrian.

The senior citizen died at the scene after being hit by a vehicle around 10:00 p.m. Sunday along Route 37 in Mound City.

The victim’s name has not been released.  The driver was not hurt.
