Millions of dollars have been awarded in Energy Transition Grants in southern Illinois.
State Representative Patrick Windhorst announced several recipients in the 117th District totaling more than $5.5 million. State Representative Paul Jacobs also announced several grants for the 118th District.
The grants are available due to the enactment of the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act and provide funding for communities that have been impacted by fossil fuel plant or coal mine closures or significant reductions with a minimum award of $50,000.
