CARTERVILLE, Ill. (WJPF) – Police in Williamson County say they found a woman being held against her will when they served an arrest warrant Monday at a home in Carterville.

In addition to the original charge of domestic battery, Tristan Sine, 26, sign now faces new charges of aggravated domestic battery and unlawful restraint.

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies serving the arrest warrant found a severely injured woman being held against her will. She showed signs of abuse including one eye swollen shut, a cut to the forehead, and a broken nose. The woman also had several bruises on her arms.

Williamson County Sheriff Jeff Diederich called the incident “one of the most severe and prolonged cases of domestic violence” that he has ever seen.
