
BROOKPORT, Ill. (WJPF) – No major damage was found after a truck hit a guardrail on the Brookport Bridge.
It happened around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday on the Illinois side of the river. The bridge was closed for about an hour until.
The crash knocked the bed of a flat-bed truck off of the frame. The impact also detached a trailer the truck was pulling.
The Brookport Bridge was built 1929 and carries an average of 5,000 vehicles across the Ohio River each day.
