A $45,000 investment made by the Marion Park District is paying dividends.

The District recently approved the purchase of video cameras throughout the district. A week ago, two juveniles vandalized the public bathroom doors at Ashley Park. With the aid of the new camera system, the District was able to identify the juveniles.

Parents have taken ownership of the juveniles’ action and have made a commitment to make full restitution for the damages.

In a statement, Parks Director Jack Reed said the district will continue to monitor negative activity and prosecute those responsible for damage to park property.
