CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – Two arrests have been made in connection to a weekend shooting in downtown Carbondale.
Demarcus Jones, 27, and Charlton Patterson, 28, both of Carbondale, were arrested Sunday. Both have been charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a firearm by a felon, and violating bond.
Carbondale Police say at the time of the shooting, both Jones and Patterson were out on bond, awaiting court appearances on previous weapons charges.
One person was taken to the hospital as a result of the shooting that happened at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday near the parking lot of the town square pavilion. The injured person was treated and released.
Carbondale Police say their investigation is ongoing.
