On March 9th deputies responded to a report of a stolen horse in West Frankfort.

The suspect being 25 year old Dakota Horton of Thompsonville. 

Police learned Horton had taken the horse into the north eastern part of Williamson County. Those tips were received through a social media post.

A warrant was issued and Horton was located in Washington, Indiana and taken into custody. Horton was extradited back to Franklin County.

Horton remains in the Franklin County jail for theft over $10,000 and 2 counts of violation of order of protection.
