CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) – Carbondale Police are looking for the gunman in a Sunday shooting that sent one person to the hospital.

Police were called to the 500 block of East Main Street 3:00 p.m. for a report of shots fired. Responding officers found one person with a gunshot wound. The victim is expected to recover.

The suspect in the shooting is described by police as a younger Black man, standing about 5’10”. At the time of the shooting, he was wearing a maroon hooded sweatshirt and black pants.
