ELDORADO, Ill. (WJPF) — The Eldorado community is grieving the loss of a high school student who was killed Thursday in an accident during the homecoming parade. 

Superintendent Ryan Hobbs says senior Heath Toothman lost his balance while jumping off a parade float and hit his head on the pavement. Toothman was flown to an out of state hospital, but later died of his injuries. 

A tribute is planned to take place during Eldorado’s Friday night home football game.
