HARRISBURG, Ill. (WJPF) — Alexander McWilliam, the Harrisburg man wanted for the murder of Mishealia Meredith, is now behind bars.

The 36-year-old was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon after a 2 ½ hour standoff with police at a motel in Morganfield, Kentucky.

McWilliam is facing a first degree murder charge in the shooting death of the 19-year-old Meredith. He’s being held in a Kentucky jail awaiting extradition back to Illinois.
