The latest Southern Illinois Football Coaches’ Poll has been released. Participating coaches have voted Marion as the unanimous top team in Southern Illinois after a 65-28 beatdown of #2 Carbondale on opening night. Despite such a disappointing loss, the Terriers hold steady at #2 in the rankings.
The Carterville Lions surged up the rankings from #9 to #5 after a dominating 43-0 win over Anna-Jonesboro while Du Quoin had the steepest drop from #3 to #9 after a 64-20 loss to defending 3A state champs Williamsville.
Centralia and Herrin are new entrants in the Top 10 while Chester and A-J drop from list.
