CARBONDALE, Ill. (WJPF) —  The first shipment of Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine has arrives in southern Illinois.

The vaccine arrived Wednesday afternoon and will start to be administered Thursday morning.

The first doses will got to healthcare workers as well as the staff and residents of long term care facilities. The vaccine must be administered in two doses, twenty-one days apart.
